The contextual reality and possible suggestion toward improving supported employment program in Korea

Abstract

|
This study aimed to comprehend uniqueness for Korean supported employment and suggest possible strategies through focus group interview with stakeholder regarding the policy. We employed consistent comparative analysis, and yielded several topics as followed: 1) training duration and wages adjustment, 2) training professional job coaches, 3) multi-dimensional performance evaluation of supported employment, 4) redesign of nonpublic service bender. In the discussion, several recommendations were driven, and concluded that we need to redesign supported employment in Korea considering the institutional constraints that make relevant programs in Korea differing from original U.S. model.
